This full-day tour is a deeply emotional and educational journey into one of the darkest chapters of modern European history — the 1995 genocide in Srebrenica. The tour offers insight into the events that led to the genocide, life in the enclaves during the war, and the ongoing struggle for justice and recognition. It is a must for anyone wishing to understand the consequences of hatred, nationalism, and international inaction.
INTRODUCTION
The introduction part of this tour will be from start point in Sarajevo till Srebrenica.
During the drive from Sarajevo to Srebrenica professional guide will give detailed introduction of times before 90’s war. That means short introduction of life, crimes and politics during Kingdom of Yugoslavia, WW II and former Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia. This foundation is necessary for better understanding of the war during the 90’s, especially Srebrenica genocide.
We will also talk about institutions and ideology in Serbia that are guilty for 200 years of continuous brainwash of its own society.
Before arrival to Potočari Memorial Center we will make an introduction of three Eastern Bosnian war enclaves: Srebrenica, Žepa and Goražde.
With this introduction you will have very good foundations for detailed Srebrenica Genocide guided tour inside the memorial by the employees of the memorial.
Morning stop at a local Bosniak returnee restaurant in Nova Kasaba.
Guided visit to the Srebrenica Memorial Center and cemetery.
Lunch break at another local returnee family-run restaurant.
